Morning rehearsal with the "string quartet" went well. It should really just be called a chamber orchestra. Mr. Radtke took the cellos out for a sectional while I worked with the upper strings. We ran through the Vivaldi concerto for two trumpets, Appalachian spring, and made sure that everyone had the third position fingerings for pachabel cannon. I always feel more confident with the 8th graders. It may be because they are more confident players. D minor is still posing some difficulty for the 7th concert orchestra. We focused on eight measures and practiced taking the ds coda.
